We are striving to make this a pivotal event for
peace and justice in this country, bringing together
hundreds of active organizers in a loving, interfaith

CHECK - IN
Space
is limited, so please register early.

in registration will begin at 2:00 p.m. to 7:00
p.m. on Thursday, August 5th at Samuelson

DIRECTIONS
Occidental College is located in the northeast
Los Angeles area neighborhood of Eagle Rock, between
Pasadena on the east and Glendale on the west,
about 15 minutes from downtown Los Angeles and
easily accessible from major freeways.
By Plane
Most
airlines fly into Los Angeles International Airport
(LAX). Airport buses (800-772-5299) run
from LAX to Pasadena hotels; Super Shuttle (800-258-3826
or www.supershuttle.com will deliver you directly to the College. Many
airlines also serve Burbank-Pasadena-Glendale Airport
(BUR), 30 minutes from Occidental College. You
may find renting a car convenient or group rates
for shuttles (advance reservations are strongly
recommended). Costs for shuttles from the airport
to campus range from $25 -35.
By Train
Amtrak
trains arrive and depart from Union Station in
downtown Los Angeles, and from Glendale depot
(at West Cerritos and Railroad), which is about
three miles from Occidental. For fare and schedule
information, call (800-872-7245) or visit www.amtrak.com
By Bus
L.A.
Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) buses
serve Eagle Rock. From downtown Los Angeles,
lines 83 (on York Boulevard) and 84 (on Eagle Rock
Boulevard) stop nearest campus. From west Los
Angeles, take line 20 into downtown and transfer
to line 83 or 84. For route and schedule information,

By Automobile
1.
From Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
or points South:
Enter
the 105 East from LAX (off Sepulveda Blvd. South). The 105 is also accessible from the 405
North or South (San Diego Freeway). Follow the
105 East to the 110 North (Harbor Freeway) and
drive through downtown Los Angeles. Exit the 110
at the 5 North (Golden State Freeway). Exit the
5 at the 2 North (Glendale Freeway). Exit the
2 at Verdugo Road. Turn left at the end of the
Verdugo off-ramp onto Eagle Rock Boulevard. Go
five traffic signals to Westdale Avenue and turn
right. Follow Westdale Avenue and turn right. Follow
Westdale to Campus Road and Occidental College.

2. From Downtown Los Angeles:
Find the 110 North, the Harbor Freeway, and follow
the same directions as in Paragraph 1.
3. From Orange County and points southeast:
Take
the 5 North (Golden State Freeway) or the 605
North to the 5 North, past downtown Los Angeles. Exit
the 5 Freeway at 2 North (Glendale Freeway) and
follow the same directions as in Paragraph 1.
4. From Long Beach and vicinity:
Take
the 710 North (the Long Beach Freeway) to the
110 North (Harbor Freeway) to the 5 North to
the 2 North. In either case, once you’re
on the 2, follow the directions as in Paragraph
1.
5. From the San Fernando Valley and points west:
Take
the 101 South (Ventura Freeway) to 134 East through
Glendale. Exit at Harvey Drive. Turn
right at the end of the off-ramp and make an immediate
left at the light onto Broadway, which merges into
Colorado Boulevard. Go three traffic signals to
Eagle Rock Boulevard and turn right. Go four traffic
signals to Westdale Avenue and turn left. Follow
Westdale to Campus Road.
6. From Burbank-Pasadena-Glendale Airport:
Take the 5 South (Golden State Freeway) to the
134 East Ventura Freeway) and follow the same directions
as in Paragraph 5.
7. From Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley:
Take
the 210 West (San Fernando Freeway) to the 134
West (Ventura Freeway) and exit on the Colorado
/ Figueroa offramp. Bear to the left and follow
Colorado Boulevard to Eagle Rock Boulevard (about
one mile) and turn left. Go four traffic signals
to Westdale Avenue and turn left. Follow Westdale
to Campus Road.
PARKING
Parking
can be found in Lot #42. See Campus Map. Parking
is limited so please carpool if possible.

HOUSING AND MEALS
Singles
and doubles are available. Registrants
are asked to indicate roomate preferences or special
arrangements on registration forms for children
or disability.
Rooms include internet access, air conditioning
(not guaranteed for all rooms), and telephones
(accepts incoming calls from any location and outgoing
calls to campus locations only)
Standard set of linens included: sheets, pillows,
bath towels, hand towel, washcloth, bed
pad, blanket. Toiletries such as soap, shampoo,
etc. will not be provided. Laundry
machines are available in all dormitories. Cost
.25 cents. Laundry detergent can be purchased
at the campus bookstore.
Meals will be served buffet style. Full conference
and commuter rates include dinner Thursday evening;
breakfast, lunch and dinner Friday, Saturday and
Sunday; breakfast and lunch on Monday. Vegetarian
and vegan options are plentiful.
Meals

Hot
plates, coffee makers or similar appliances,
cooking and /or food preparation is prohibited
in residence halls.
Food may not be brought onto campus.
