Gayle Brandeis is a native Riverside, California author and poet. In 2002 she received the prestigious "Bellwether Prize in Support of a Literature of Social Change" for her novel "The Book of Dead Birds." She travels extensively doing readings and spoken word engagements and has recently contributed an essay for the book "Road Warriors; California Authors on Tour."
