What inspired the largest nonviolent
protest in the history of the world on Feb. 15, 2003? The
force that rose above national boundaries to unite millions
in an impassioned, unprecedented worldwide cry for peace
was not the 'superpower' of military menace, corporate
greed, or rampant racism. The real superpower has always
been, in the words of FOR's Statement of Purpose, "the
power of love and truth to resolve human conflict," and
the courageous people who are committed to this vision.
JOIN US for five incredible days in Los Angeles to organize
an ever-increasing world peace-force to work unflinchingly
for justice and reconciliation, to insist on peace for the
war torn, equity for the poor, and to demand accountability
from our elected officials. Come and help FOR celebrate its
90th year of active nonviolence, as we elevate our interfaith
message of hope and strive together to build the Beloved
Community.
Held at Occidental College, the Conference will feature excellent
speakers, workshops and events including a benefit concert,
a protest in the streets of Los Angeles, and many opportunities
to enjoy the FOR family hospitality, as well as the excitement
of vibrant, multicultural Los Angeles. Bring the whole family
- excellent teen program and children's programs are planned.
